The Lamar Cardinals compete in the Southland Conference, and throughout the year, you'll find Philpott Ford and the other Philpott dealers at several home sporting events, ranging from football and basketball to volleyball and baseball.

Our Ford and Hyundai dealerships within the Philpott family are providing Lamar Cardinals Athletics with four courtesy vehicles - two models from each brand - to utilize throughout the duration of the sponsorship, currently running from September 2023 through September 2024.

As part of this sponsorship, students and faculty from Lamar University will receive $500 off the purchase of their next vehicle. To qualify, a valid student or faculty ID must be shown at the time of purchase. Students and faculty can save $500 on a new Ford truck, car, or SUV in Nederland!

Half-Court Shot Contest at Home Basketball Games Sponsored by Philpott

Throughout the basketball season, the Philpott dealerships will be part of an in-game promotion at Neches Arena in Beaumont. Our partnership is putting on a half-court shot contest at Southland Conference home games throughout the 2024 basketball season.

Think you can drain a half-court shot at halftime of a Lamar Cardinals hoops game? Attend one of the Saturday men's and women's basketball doubleheaders against Northwestern State (Jan. 6), Southeastern Louisiana (Jan. 27), Nicholls (Feb. 10), or Texas A&M Corpus Christi (Feb. 24). The conference home opener is on Saturday, Jan. 6 vs. Northwestern State, while the season finale doubleheader is on Wednesday, March 6 vs. Houston Christian. Full schedule details are below.
