Does it really matter what kind of oil you put in your car? Actually it does. It makes quite a difference in how your car performs and can even prevent unnecessary wear and tear on your vehicle. Synthetic, for instance, has a much higher level of lubrication and engine protection than conventional oil. It also offers better protection at start-up, has better cleansing qualities, and offers better protection against heat buildup. If you have a late-model vehicle with low-mileage that you seldom drive though, conventional oil will do just fine. It really all boils down to your driving habits and car's age. But if you have the owner's manual-it's best to check that first. If you don't use the oil stated in your manual, you can actually void your warranty or cause trouble down the road for your car and your wallet. If in doubt, find out for sure first.
