What to Expect from the First-Ever Ford Mustang GTD
You'll soon be able to accelerate through streets within the Oaks Historic District of Beaumont in a Ford Mustang GTD â a true race car for the road. The first-ever GTD model is joining the new Ford Mustang family. Get to know the street-legal and track-ready supercar coming soon to Philpott Ford.
Brutally powerful, brilliantly advanced, and boldly engineered, the Ford Mustang GTD is in hot pursuit of other supercars â and the elusive sub-7-minute famed Nürburgring time. A targeted track top speed exceeding 190 mph will certainly help, but this performance specimen is coming directly to American roads, so you can accelerate on Golden Triangle highways between Beaumont and Nederland like never before.
The GTD is unlike any Mustang you've ever witnessed. Between its Mustang soul, game-changing tech, and track-ready supercar capability that's street legal, the Ford Mustang GTD is setting a new standard for an exhilarating pony car.
Over 800 Horsepower
The projected output of 800-plus horsepower makes the Mustang GTD not only one of the most powerful new Ford vehicles for sale in Nederland, but also one of the most powerful coupes on the market.
Born from the Mustang GT3 race car, the Mustang GTD will be the quickest roadgoing Mustang ever. How is this possible? Thank the Ford Performance-engineered supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, which is is tuned to target more than 800 horsepower and work with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Lightweight Design with Responsive Handling
A lightweight carbon fiber driveshaft is connected to an 8-speed rear transaxle, creating near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The result? Your Ford Mustang GTD will provide more responsive handling, particularly on turns and corners around Beaumont.
A Unique Suspension
The Ford Mustang GTD will use a semi-active suspension, designed to enhance lateral stiffness. High-G cornering situations are also better off, thanks to improved kinematics. The dual ride height of the Ford Mustang GTD is the first of its kind, and it's combined with this unique short-long arm front suspension.
Aerodynamic Enhancements
The aerodynamic rear wing of the Ford Mustang GTD is perhaps the most noticeable exterior enhancement. The standard carbon fiber, C-pillar-mounted aero rear wing provides a sporty touch and road-gripping downforce. Additional exterior features for the first-ever Mustang GTD include:
- Formed carbon fiber body panels
- Forged carbon ceramic brakes with standard front six-piston Brembo⢠anti-lock brakes
- Michelin® Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires
- Cooling multi-purpose front fender air vents
- Lightweight titanium AkrapoviÄ® exhaust
A Driver-Center Interior
The Mustang GTD's driver-centric interior has a dual display with videogame-inspired graphics. The immersive digital cockpit combines an expansive 13.2-inch center touchscreen with a 12.4-inch LCD digital cluster. SYNC® 4 technology is included, along with a modifiable racing suspension tech with Track Mode.
